Insecurities

Yup.

We all have them...

Hey. Do ya wanna know something?
Sometimes -- a lot of times -- I suffer from a totally unnecessary
lack of confidence.
Which blows.

But seriously: I AM DONE WITH THAT.
I have been feeling inadequate for a long time because of a situation I basically invented in my head, when in actuality the opposite was true.
You might think you're not good enough, but really you are. You are more than good enough. You are awesome.
Never be scared to be yourself. Never be scared to be or do ANYTHING. Because you rock. And I rock. So instead of the scared, I'm-not-good-enough, they-don't-like-me version of me I've been for the past bit of my life, I'm gonna start being awesome. The end.

p.s. I know that lately Sparkles & Such has turned into some kind of self-help blog thing. Be patient please, I need to write all these things out so that they sink into my brain. And also, this little blog o' mine is slightly new; I don't know what it's going to grow up to be yet. Consider this it's awkward-preteen stage. :)

He is just a boy.

Hello.
I have no followers of the male species, so I feel like sharing something with you guyses. Keep a secret, kay?
So there's a boy.
Well, actually, there are many boys where I live, but there's a specific one I'm talking about. Let's call him Chester.
So once upon a time I like Chester. He fit every single quality on my perfect-boy list (cute, mormon, funny, athletic, smart, tall, etc). He can always make me smile. I'm kind of pathetic, actually, how much I like him.
BUT. I am a loser, on account of the fact that whenever I see a gorgeous, perfect boy, I magically turn into a loser. I am so scared of, idk, having my liking them be obvious, that I just stay away. Which is bad, obviously. Before long, Chester is friendos with my friendos, but we still are not good friends. Which does not make sense because we actually have lots in common and a good amount of opportunities to become friendos. But it just doesn't work, because of my horrible loserness, stemming from ... I don't even know why it happens.
I've come to a decision, though
I'm not going to be a loser anymore.
True story.
Chester is just a person, and if I can't even be myself around him, then what's the point of liking guys anyway, right? He's not perfect, in fact, I've seen him behave as a loser on numerous occasions. So ya know what? I'm just gonna get over my loserality and behave as myself, which I should've been doing all along. Okay well that's it, I guess. :)

Love yourself; it's brilliant

You are not ugly, you are pretty. You are not stupid, you are smart. You are not mean, you are kind. You are not an alien, you are human. You are not fat, you are thin. You are not hated, you are loved. You are not a loser, you are cool. You are not a freak, you are unique. You are not a loner, you are popular. You are not poor, you are rich. You are not forgotten, you are remembered. You are not alone, you have friends. You are amazing.

please: be a real person

Hi. Are you a real person?
Over the last couple of weeks one thing has been bothering me a lot:
 People who aren't themselves.
For whatever reasons, people just seem fake. Maybe they're trying to appear more popular, funny, smart, unique, whatever; but why try to APPEAR all those things when instead you could try to BE them? Really. On the flip side, I really really enjoy people who are comfortable showing the rest of the world who they really are. I know that can be hard, I know I'm guilty of being a "fake person" myself sometimes. BUT we all should try. Because a real person is much more enjoyable to be around than a fake person.
And yes, I know this post probably didn't make much sense.
