The 25th

Christmas.

Our house was not decorated.

Our tree was sparse.

We had no snow.

And yet it was still brilliant.

My absolute favorite bestest most wonderful miraculously amazing present is my

NEW VIOLIN!!!!!!!!!!

Yes friends, Paulo is being replaced. It's a happy day.

It's gorgeous.

More on that later.

Sleep in heavenly peace. :)

And it feels nice.

It feels like my life is finally working out.
I don't know what's changed.
Maybe nothing.
But even though I don't understand my math homework
and I need to clean my room
I am quite simply
happy.

I love my violin.
Switching teachers far and away the best thing I've done for my playing.
I love it. A lot.
Today during school, I found myself wishing I was at home practicing.
How unusual.

A question that's been sitting in the back of my mind, quietly,
for a long time has finally been answered.
That makes me happy, too.

I've been happier with myself.
More confident, content.

"Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord God am with you, and will stand by you." -D&C 68:6

A fest of music.

“We are the makers of music and the dreamers of dreams.” –Willy Wonka

This week is MUSICFEST!!! (Oh yeah, baby!) MusicFest is a music camp that I and some of my friendos go to, and it is marvelous. If you were ever to go to this week of fun-ness, these are some things you might hear:

• "Hey, my violin fits in my mouth!"
• "Have you seen Phil Butter??"
• "FACE SPASM!"
• Comments on how Casey is a fantastic robot
• "Aflac!"
• Random donut analogies
• Beautiful singing...every once in a while :)
• A bunch of first violins trying their hardest to get the notes but failing
• "What is up with the sun?"
• "Double-Stuf Oreos!!!"
• "BASS!"
• "What does Baroque mean?" "He dropped his instrument."
• Bach, but with the 'ch' pronounced like a cat hiss.

  and many, many, many more...

As you can see, we have great fun.
